ARM BANDS (will be worn on left wrist at all times - NO EXCEPTIONS!) Arm bands come with the price of admission.
Coggins:
All Livestock must have a current Negative Coggins Test available upon request.
Animal Care
Please make sure to water all stock as often as possible to prevent dehydration while on the trail. Also be sure to cool stock first before watering when returning to camp to help prevent colic. The Western North Carolina Wagon Train Staff will be able to contact a veterinarian if need be. It is recommended that all animals have on shoes as we will be traveling on gravel, pavement and logging roads.
General:
Hats and T-shirts will be available all week at the check-in desk.
Hay & Water
Hay will be available for stock at camp. Price for square bales will be updated soon. Let us know if you are wanting hay so we can estimate how many bales we need to have available.
Water for trailers will also be available upon request. There is a creek running along the field. No fresh water for rigs on-site. One of the board members live 2 miles away with access to fresh water to be hauled in for you. Smart to come in full and the board can help you refill if needed.
CAMPSITE:
Campsite is approximately 30 acres of flat field. All rigs should be able to get in and out of field. Very little shade, so bring you some. Running water along the left edge of the field. There will be several spots cut out for watering stock. Please do not set up your camp right in front of one of these watering spots. Please do not set up your camp so close to these spots that your animals stay tied in the access of these spots that require folks to have to weed through your animals to get to these spots.
ALCOHOL USE:
We understand that some do and some do not have alcohol on our rides, as well as other rides. We ask that all alcohol stay covered and kept in your camp. No alcohol permitted on the trail. We haven't had a problem with this is several, SEVERAL years. We want to keep it that way. WNC wagon train does reserve the right to ask anyone to leave the property if they get out of hand at any time.
